The Committee on Alumni Trustee Nominations (CATN) reports to the Board of Trustees Committee on Alumni Affairs and is charged with screening and nominating four qualified alumni to stand as candidates in the annual election for alumni trustees. CATN is composed of twenty-eight alumni members: one representing each college or school, the Board of Trustees, and the Cornell Association of Class Officers, as well as regional representatives and members at large. CATN members serve four-year terms, and nominations are open each spring for members at large to join CATN. While administratively supported by staff, the review of trustee candidates and selection of nominees are wholly the responsibility of CATN.

Established in 2016, the Cornell Alumni Advisory Board (CAAB) is a strategic group of alumni, focused on building alumni engagement by advising on priorities for Cornell’s alumni affairs function and by strengthening relations between alumni and the University. Specifically, the Board provides strategic input on the approaches that will deepen alumni participation.

The Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability is the hub of collaborative sustainability research at Cornell University, forging vital connections among researchers, students, staff, and external partners. The center’s funding and programming accelerate groundbreaking research within and across all of Cornell’s colleges and schools. In turn, the center is the university’s home to bold ideas and powerful new models that ensure people and the planet not only survive, but thrive.

The purpose of the Cornell Botanic Gardens Advisory Council is to serve as a consultative group to the director and program leaders, providing input, guidance, and assistance in addressing major issues that impact Botanic Gardens' ability to fulfill its mission. Members of the council are Cornell alumni, parents, friends and others who are committed to providing advice, advocacy, and financial support.

Cornell's diversity alumni population is more than 46,000 strong. Mosaic wants to help alumni of color, LGBTQ alumni, First-Generation alumni, alumni who are military veterans, and differently-abled alumni make the most of their Cornell connections and have a voice in the university's direction.

One of our hallmark programs is a yearly networking event featuring nationally renowned speakers who tackle topics of great social and political importance. Recently we've featured topics such as health care, the U.S. presidential election, and racial classification in America.

These are networking opportunities and spirited discussions you won't want to miss!

The Board of Trustees consists of 64 voting members. In addition to board-elected trustees, Cornell students, employees, faculty, and alumni elect individuals to serve on the board with full voting privileges. Four ex-officio members -- the president of the university, the governor of the state of New York, the speaker of the state assembly, and the president of the state senate -- also have voting privileges.

Cornell University Council helps ensure that the voices of alumni, parents, and friends play a meaningful role in Cornell's strategic direction. Council members are the first group of alumni the university turns to for needs like these:

* Responding to initiatives and program needs of faculty and administrators
* Serving as a leader in alumni organizations and financial support
* Serving as a Cornell ambassador and spokesperson in alumni and community groups
* Hosting events
* Fundraising
* Serving on task forces dedicated to specific issues
* Serving on non-council committees and advisory groups
* Lobbying the federal or state government

The council includes more than 450 elected members and over 270 life members. Trustees, trustees emeriti, and presidential councillors also serve as council members. Total membership is more than 900 alumni, parents, and friends.

The Administrative Board manages the operations of the Cornell University Council, and is comprised of five groups: officers, elected members, trustees, faculty members, and ex officio members, all of whom offer balanced representation and communication on all aspects of Council's work for the university.

The CUC Development Working Group is a committee of the Cornell University Council. Members help inform others about the importance of private support for Cornell students, faculty and programs, and to encourage all Council members to make a gift each year with a goal of 100% participation.

Members of the Engagement working group educate Council members about their role as influencers—encouraging alumni, parents, and friends to engage or re-engage with the University. Members leverage their networks to support the University’s campaign engagement goals. Additionally, the committee helps distribute the Council newsletter twice a year and promotes attendance at TCAM.

The Mentoring working group supports the development and progression of mentoring for new Cornell University Council (CUC) members. Committee members help guide CUC members during their third year to sustain and deepen their engagement with Cornell. The Cornell University Library Advisory Council is dedicated to realizing the vision and priorities set forth by the University Librarian. Our mission is to ensure that the community of scholars, faculty, and students at Cornell has access to the essential resources, including books, electronic materials, and library services, necessary for their academic pursuits.

CULAC places a high value on cultivating a membership that reflects the rich diversity of Cornell alumni and friends connected to the Library. This commitment encompasses diversity across various dimensions including but not limited to race, gender, geography, profession, and age. Frank H. T. Rhodes, the ninth president of Cornell University, was one of the most beloved and respected administrators in Cornell's history, and has eloquently inspired alumni of all ages as well as generations of Cornell students to continue their life after Cornell as dedicated Cornellians. In 1994, the Cornell Alumni Association, with the endorsement of the Board of Trustees Committee on Alumni Affairs, established the Frank H. T. Rhodes Exemplary Alumni Service Award in his honor.

The Herbert F. Johnson Museum of Art is committed to serving a diverse audience and cultivating a wide range of partnerships that inspire creative ways to link objects and ideas for the education and enjoyment of all. The Museum preserves, documents, interprets, and makes accessible its collections for the benefit of current and future generations of museum visitors. By providing wide access to original works of art from different cultural traditions and time periods, the Museum connects audiences with art of the past and helps them explore new directions in contemporary art. Since its founding in 1973, the Museum has been open to all free of charge.
